Southwold Under 7’s 13th April 2008 Southwold V Beccles Another fine day for rugby saw us as visitors to Beccles. A strong turn out for us, even with Annabelle absence to county gymnastics’, boded well for the day. Game 1 - Final Score: Southwold 9 – Beccles 2 A small pitch on probably the best grass we have played on this season saw a rampant Southwold storm to five scores without reply. Callum, Charles and Nick all scoring one and Jake weaving is way to two further. Beccles worked hard but seemed short of experienced players to the depth of Southwold. Half time changes led to some in decision in defence with Beccles braking through for their first points. Two special moments in the game then followed. HENRY stepped up with a positive run leaving Beccles defence in his wake to score his first try for Southwold under 7’s. Quickly followed by the funniest moment of the season, with Callum running with the ball and a Beccles play wrapped around his waist and still managing to score. Charles put over a further two tries for a very handsome score line. Game 2 - Final Score: Southwold 6 – Beccles 4 Similar in play to the first with lots of good play throughout our team. A special mention for some excellent tagging by Maddy and Jo Jo who were really having a good day for the team. Charles, Nick, Callum, Jake all scored for us this game, and with a solid performance from Christopher for his two tries, saw another victory for Southwold. Beccles - Southwold U10's Game1 Beccles 6 Southwold 7 On a nice sunny morning the troops turned up with lots of energy to burn,the problem being with the water logged pitches at beccles, they could only provide us the smaller pitches to play on which did mean the pitch being very crowed at times with some players tripping over each other or running to each other. With this small problem the boys had a very good game with some good play from Owen and Charlie who linked up together on 2/3 times during the game to cause beccles some problems but this was a good game where the players on the pitch are taking more responsablity of themselves and they are becoming a vey exciting group of players to watch as there tagging has got better and with the pace in the the squad they seam to score on most occasions Game 2 Beccles 6 Southwold 10 The game just got better,the team tagged with more confidence and their attacks got quicker with the ball being moved around the pitch and with James and Angus and Charlie scoring with some excellent running and surpport play I could not ask any more from them well done all of you.
