Ipswich YM 10 Southwold 25 (15-12-2007)
Southwold produced their first doubleof the season, defeating Ipswich YM home and away. This Ipswich side were a different proposition and made Southwold work hard for a victory that keeps them in contention for the top.

Southwold's flowing game stuttered on an organised rush defence formuch the match. The first score came form Southwold managing to sweep the ball across the pitch, retain possession, and sweep the other way for Spenser Smith to finish.

Ben Copling scored the second try for Southwold supporting a wide move and and claiming the inside pass to crash over. Ipswich responded with a penalty and the game was finally balanced going into halftime.

Ipswich hit back with a try of their own, and put the back three under pressure with some probing kicking. In the second half it was the Southwold pack who came to the fore with tight play that dominated possession and territory.

Ben copling tore through the defence to score his second try for the day. Further tries from Gavin Starks sniping off the side of the ruck, and Simon Ward who miraclously burst from a maul to pounce over the line.
