Southwold scored their opening try in the first 5 minutes of the match. A sweeping move and good handling led to a try for Darren Keable. The score proved to be a double edged sword, although in front Southwold forgot the basics and played with little pattern. Broadland seized upon this and scored through a hack and chase after a Southwold move broke down. Broadland converted the try and added a further penalty before half-time. At half-time Southwold faced the facts and dug deeper. The pack started to commit more defenders and punch through the fringe defenders, giving the backs a fast, forward going platform from which to attack from. Spenser Smith scored a brace, blasting through the middle and lurking on the wing. He was found for his second try with an aviation ball from James Hall, the Hooker. Ben Copling weighed in with a typical rampaging try, and Gavin Starks burrowed through double yellow lines to score at the fringe of a quick ruck. Southwold 2nd team played Wynmundham 2nds; they battled hard but went down 40 - 3 to a well drilled side. Although it was fantastic to see 20 plus available and playing for seconds yet again.
