West Norfolk 24 Southwold 5 (13-10-2007)
Southwold travelled to Kings Lynn for a tough 3rd round Vase match against West Norfolk. The team came off the pitch defeated but unbowed.

In fact the score line reflects the right result although Southwold were closer to opposition than the points suggest. Southwold began the game slowly and succombed to an early brace of tries.

However this did not dampen the resolve. The Southwold pack fought tooth and nail for every 50/50 ball and acheived good turn-over ball. west Norfolk possessed a well drilled defence and although Southwold made some promising attacks it was hard to break down a resolute home defence.

In the second half a move that involved both forwards and backs resulted in Spenser Smith bullocking his way over the line. Not long afterwards Duncan Hume was ruled to be in touch when over the line.

Gavin starks brave defiance was ended by aleg injury and the home side took advantage and sucked the defence in to score to late tries to give the score a lop-sided appearance.

Southwold held and disrupted a strong scrum with the front row collectively causing anarchiac mayhem. Nicolson Construction MoM James Hall.
