Founded in 1964, Southwold Rugby Club initially fielded one team. Today the club comprises a first and second 15, a ladies 15, The Sharks, comprising under17s, under 14/15s and under 13s and The Seagulls Minis, comprising under 7s, under 8s, under 9s/10s and under 11/12s In the early days of the club facilities were somewhat rudimentary. Southwold’s Harbour Inn served as a changing facility, club house and match tea venue. The current clubhouse was built in the late 60s and early 70s, being repeatedly extended to provide the clubhouse that stands today. There is currently a project afoot to build a new pavilion, with the intention of providing a multipurpose facility for the Southwold RFC and the local football and cricket clubs. The club is working hard to raise as much money as possible towards this venture and fund raising events have been very well supported to date.
